I remember reading a quote from Janet where she was talking about this scene from the film "Boogie Nights" and how she could relate to it: Can you guys help me, because I can't find this quote anywhere. Thanks!

We need a Janet historian up in here I don't remember when she talked about that scene but I do know for sure she has mentioned it.

Funny thing is I was randomly reading through some old Janet interviews on another fansite and this quote struck me as well. I think this could be what you were looking for. Its from Us magazine from 1998:
Q:are you still fighting depression
A: It's better now but i'm still dealing with it. I saw Boogie Nights the other night , and when the guy got in an argument with his mother and she was telling him that he was stupid and he'd never amount to anything I could not stop crying. When the kid said, "why are you being so mean to me?" my heart just... I could totally understand that. (softly) yeah , I still have those funky days.
